Millwall Community Trust (MCT) has been working with highly acclaimed chefs to provide new ways to incorporate healthier lifestyles in the local community.

Within the Southwark and Lewisham areas, around 40% of children in Year 6 are overweight/obese. This highlights the need for better incorporation of healthy lifestyles from a young age and affordable ways to do this so it benefits all families. Our first chef that featured was Cyrus Todiwala, who brought the amazing hariyali palav to the menu.

The brilliant chef Ashley Marsh is next, and he has provided us with the steps on how to make a delicious smoked ham and leek risotto with poached free-range hens egg  to try. With simple steps to follow, you could make this meal in no time!

Sean Daly, CEO of the Community Trust, said: "We're honoured to have Ashley provide us with the next meal that families can try. We've been working with him, and the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts at Riverside school in our Kick and Cook programme. He has already taught the kids so much and helped them develop cooking skills that they didn't have before.

"These amazing chefs are just the beginning of our new, monthly affordable recipes that you can try at home. Again, we would like to thank Debbie Julians for continuing to bring this idea to life, and a big thank you to Ashley Marsh for being the next chef to feature with this fantastic meal."
