This is a first of its kind event for the trust as we continue to support local employment needs following our massive success with the government Kickstart scheme which sort the Millwall F.C and the trust employ over 23 unemployed young people”.

“With cost-of-living challenges it is vital that where job opportunities exist that these are promoted and made available to the local community and therefore, we along with the JCP, Construction Skill centre and Groundswell project our proud to put this event on”.

Josephine Sheehan DWP Employer Advisor Manager said: "DWP have been working in partnership with Millwall Community Trust for several years. They have supported our customers journey into training and work as well as supporting the Governments Kick Start programme with several young people successfully securing jobs within the trust and football club. I am delighted to say the community work they do helps to transform young people’s lives. I have seen the customers journey from start of Millwall's various employment support programmes to graduation and the change is amazing to witness and be part of their transition into work, apprenticeships, or training".

"The trust is so passionate to support the community and with ongoing conversations on how the community can be supported more. In DWP we are always looking at what more we could do to support the community, and this is where the Millwall Community Trust and JCP collaboration to organise this Job Fair was born.  Our aim is to help customers secure employment, training, or an apprenticeship.  We look forward to sharing some great good new stories from today’s event".
