This week Damian Hinds the Minister of State for Prisons, Parole and probation visited Millwall Community Trust’s Twinning Project session at HMP/YOI Isis Belmarsh Prison.

Damian Hinds visited the session to see all the good work that is being done by the Millwall Community Trust as part of the Twinning Project training course.

The Millwall Community Trust launched the programme in partnership with the Twinning project in January 2021 where football and education programmes are delivered within local prisons.

The accredited FA football/education based course is delivered both in the classroom and out on the field and also provides participants with teaching knowledge and leadership skills.

Following his visit, Damian Hinds tweeted: “Thank you HM Prison & Probation Service and HMO & YOI for inviting me today to see the Twinning Project training course delivered by Millwall Community Trust…the power of sport to change lives and make communities safer.”

Sean Daly, CEO at Millwall Community Trust said: " The Trust has been running the Twinning project within prisons for the last two years, and has seen the impact that football has on the participants of this, would like to thank Damian for his support for the project with his visit.
