Race the Euros Virtual Challenge 2021

Join the Millwall Community Trust Squad to take on 13 other football clubs in London and raise funds for the Trust.

The Race the Euros event will see 14 London Football Clubs race across Europe in a virtual activity challenge. Working in squads of 23, each Club aims to be the fastest to cover the 6,720 miles that separate all of the Euro 2021 Host Cities.

The event is currently scheduled to run during March and participants can log miles in nearly 80 different activities (subject to any Government guidelines). We will be monitoring the government guidance on exercise and outdoor activities over the next few weeks and constantly reviewing and adapting the list of approved activities to make sure that the challenge can be completed safely and in line with all legislation.

When the challenge is live an event portal will chart the progress of each Club team and as each squad reaches a host city, information about that city and its footballing history will be unlocked.

All funds raised from the event will support Millwall Community Trusts work in the community. Millwall Community Trust, established in 1985, works to provide sporting, education, social and healthy lifestyle opportunities to the local community in Southwark, Lewisham and the wider community. Its work is targeted at people of all ages irrespective of race, gender or sexual orientation and runs programmes aimed at tracking social exclusion, racism, knife crime, lack of employment opportunities for young people, mental health and disability issues.

The sponsorship that you raise will be used for MCT’s new bursary project which will offer financial support to participants of our programmes, it will assist with their travel expenses so they can attend programmes, provide clothing for young people we work with, whilst also supporting with educational pathways for our participants. This project will make the utmost difference to our participants especially after the difficult year the charity sector has faced because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic Millwall Community Trust was able to provide thousands of hot meals to children in the local community, Carry on engaging young people in football provision whilst also creating a space for dozens of young people to be able to give back and support their community through social action. Your sponsorship will directly support the continuation of these projects.

To secure a place in the Race the Euros Virtual Event 2021, you will need to pay £10 entry fee and commit to raising in sponsorship.
