Millwall Community Trust (MCT) in partnership with EFL Trust and Ferrero UK deliver the Joy of moving programme to thousands of school children in Lewisham and Southwark in South London every academic year.

According to research only 30% of boys and 25% of girls aged 5-7 meet the recommended quota of exercise each day. Such inactivity levels are leading to a variety of issues affecting both physical and mental health.

The Joy of moving programme is designed to help children develop their physical, cognitive and social skills in a fun and educational way.

As part of this fantastic initiative, Millwall Community Trust (MCT) recently hosted a Joy of Moving tasting experience at a local school alongside Brown’s Hotel. The session gave the children the chance to prepare fruit and vegetables for their classmates to taste under the guidance and supervision of the world-renowned Brown’s Hotel Staff.

It was a truly fantastic opportunity for the children and one where they learned the importance of living a healthy and balanced lifestyle whilst working together as a team.

Emily Poole, MCT Primary Stars and Schools Co-ordinator said: “What a fantastic day! Being able to give children valuable life lessons is so important to us and everything we do at MCT and to be able to partner with such a great organisation such as Brown’s Hotel made it even more special.

It is not every day local school children get the opportunity to learn from such prestigious professionals and we would like to say a special thank you to Brown’s Hotel for helping to make this such a fantastic day for the children.”
