Millwall Lionesses were defeated 1-0 by Dorking Wanderers on Sunday afternoon at Meadowbank.
The Lionesses fell to their first defeat in seven in the league in a stormy Dorking.
Millwall started well and nearly took the lead early on as Liv McGregor’s burst into the area led to a strike on goal which was well saved.
Twenty minutes later, McGregor had another effort but once again the strike was held well by the hosts stopper.
On the half hour mark, Millwall hit the bar as Ciara Watling’s corner took a few ricochets in the area before coming off the bar.
Just two minutes later, Lucy Jellett got on the end of a McGregor delivery hitting the bar before Watling’s effort was saved as well.
Seven minutes after the restart Dorking had a chance to take the lead but the effort sailed over the bar.
However, with ten minutes remaining the hosts took the lead as a corner found its way in to the back of the net.
Millwall pushed for a leveller but couldn’t find one and will look to respond when they travel to Bognor Regis next Sunday.
