In a brand new series, Millwall Community Trust are getting to know our Trustees.
Next up is Chief Commercial Officer at Millwall Football Club and Millwall Community Trust Trustee Luke Wilson…
Could you please introduce yourself and a little bit about your history?
I’m Chief Commercial Officer at Millwall FC and a trustee of the Millwall Community trust. I've worked in the commercial side of sports for over 15 years, primarily in football where I have worked on behalf of UEFA, and at Arsenal, overseeing relationships with a large number of international brands.
In between I've worked for a number of sports marketing agencies on behalf of brands such as Pepsi. And I have also spent some time in the public sector advising Government how to manage and sell sponsorships of high-profile events like the COP26 Climate Change Conference.
How long have you been a trustee with Millwall Community Trust?
Just over a year now.
Why did you become a trustee at Millwall Community Trust?
The trusts work makes an incredible impact on so many people's lives across a really diverse range of projects within both Lewisham and Southwark. I'm extremely proud of the support the trust provides to our local community, and the role The Club plays in helping to deliver this.
Both organisations have a long-standing tradition of looking out for the local community, so I'm really happy and proud, to be able to contribute towards this within both of my roles.
