Millwall Lionesses earned a deserved point yesterday afternoon against Dorking Wanderers with a late equaliser at St Paul’s.

Ted Jones’ side battled and showed resilience as Victoria Lussambo’s late leveller made it 1-1.

Millwall started well and were unlucky not to go ahead early on as the visitors stopper made a couple of decent saves.

The Lionesses had to defend midway through the first-half as a crucial block denied Dorking an opportunity to take the lead.

On the half hour mark, Ciara Watling’s corner was met by Alice Wood whose effort went just over.

The visitors took the lead just before half time as the effort trickled into the back of the net.

That wasn’t to dampen Millwall’s spirits however, as they continued to look for that equaliser and Lussambo’s effort after the restart went just wide.

Three minutes later, Elise Jennings raced through on goal but her strike was saved well.

With five minutes remaining Dorking had an opportunity to double their advantage but the effort went over.

Millwall continued to show resilience and got their rewards in the 95th minute as Maisie Joyce’s pass found Liv McGregor whose cross was perfect for Lussambo who struck home!

Millwall Lionesses: Wright, Connell, Chapman, Burgess, Huseyin, Joyce, Wood, Watling, Lockett, Jennings, Jellett.
