Millwall defeated Stoke City 3-1 in the Sky Bet Championship at the bet365 Stadium on Tuesday night.

Millwall Community Trust Player Ambassadors Camiel Neghli, Femi Azeez and Josh Coburn were on target as Alex Neil's side confirmed their place in the Sky Bet Championship's top six.

The Head Coach named an unchanged XI from Saturday's 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at The Den, meaning Derek Mazou-Sacko kept his place in the midfield and Josh Coburn was the lone man in attack.

Both sides started the game in an attacking mood, with Tristan Crama's cross on seven minutes being deflected towards the back post and a Stoke corner being headed wide minutes later. The Lions began to knock the ball around confidently around the 15-minute mark and Crama's enticing cross was guided towards goal by Josh Coburn on the edge of the six-yard-box, but the striker guided his effort wide of the far post.

With 20 minutes on the clock, however, Millwall were in front as Femi Azeez's ball out to Zak Sturge saw the left-back cross into the box - the play was deflected into the path of Neghli, who dug the ball out of his feet to fire into the roof of the net and open the scoring.

It could - and perhaps should - have been 2-0 just five minutes later, but after a cross from the right-hand side found Coburn in space in the penalty area, the striker blazed his effort over.

A defensive error from The Lions then almost let the hosts in, but they were denied by a strong stop from Anthony Patterson, before Millwall had opportunities to extend their advantage before the first-half came to a close, but were not able to force the ball home.

Tatsuki Seko's shot was deflected onto the post in the first effort of the second-half, whilst Million Manhoef's effort rolled into the arms of Patterson a minute later.

However, on 55 minutes, The Lions were 2-0 in front as Azeez's speculative effort swerved in the air and deceived Bazunu as it nestled into the net.

There was a penalty shout for Millwall soon after - but referee Josh Smith was unmoved - before The Potters were able to reduce the arrears as Cisse's first touch saw him come off the bench and fire in from an acute angle, off the back of Caleb Taylor and the post.

With 69 minutes on the clock, however Millwall's two-goal advantage was restored as Neghli took advantage of some slack Stoke defending to thread the ball through to Coburn, who made no mistake in slotting home The Lions' third of the evening.

Ashley Phillips nodded wide ahead of Alex Neil making three substitutions as Sturge, Coburn and Thierno Ballo were replaced by Danny McNamara, Ivanovic and Tommy Watson, with a further two following as Azeez and Casper De Norre made way for Luke Cundle and Macaulay Langstaff.

With no further goalmouth action to report, the referee blew for time on a convincing win for Millwall - and a confirmed place in the Sky Bet Championship's top six.
