Millwall Community Trust (MCT) would like to welcome our new Premier League Primary Stars Officer, Jamie Murray.
Premier League Primary Stars is a national curriculum-linked education programme using the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
We had a quick catch-up with Jamie to find out about her role and what she’s most excited about.
You’ve recently joined as Millwall Community Trust's Premier League Primary Stars Officer, can you tell us a bit about yourself and what made you want to do this role?
I am a huge football fan, and I enjoy helping young people fulfil their potential. The reason I wanted to do this role is because I have worked on the Premier League Primary Stars programme for a number of years at other clubs, and I have seen the huge impact it can have on young people within the community.
What will you be doing with the children on this programme?
In this role, the coaches and I will work closely with our primary schools to help develop and support children, not only with their curriculum work but also in becoming even better individuals through sport. I will aim to provide the young people we work with unique opportunities and experiences that will stay with them forever.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
What I am most looking forward to is meeting lots of new people, including Millwall staff, participants, teachers, and many others, as well as leading and delivering all the opportunities that the Premier League Primary Stars programme has to offer.
