Millwall Lionesses 5 - 1 Fleet Town

Millwall Lionesses are into the hat of the First Round of the FA cup after a convincing win over Fleet Town on Sunday.

The Lionesses controlled the majority of the game, leading after just eight minutes when Ellie Hinkley was put through one on one with the keeper. The forward calmly navigated around the goalkeeper to tap home and give the Lionesses a well deserved lead.

The pressure continued, Chloe Burr came close to doubling the lead after Sophie Chapman played the forward through on her full debut, before Maisie Joyce saw her free kick deflect just wide and go for a corner.

Milan Shakespeare-Simms, who was also making her full debut after progressing from the U18s, caused Fleet Town plenty of issues down the left-hand side, winning the corner that resulted in The Lionesses' second of the afternoon.

After a mad scramble in the box, the ball fell to Amy Nash who was able to tuck it home from close range to put Millwall in a more commanding situation.

Maisie Joyce added a third from the penalty spot after Alyssa Miranda, who was proving too hot to handle all afternoon, was brought down in the box following a mazy run.

The Lionesses will have been frustrated however, conceding a sloppy goal before the half to head in leading 3-1.

Alyssa Miranda turned creator to goalscorer early into the second-half. The ball dropped to the winger inside the 18 yard box and the winger stayed composed as ever to guide the ball past the goalkeeper and extend the lead back to three.

Just minutes later Miranda added herself a second and a fifth for The Lionesses to book a place in the next round. After good work down the right, she breezed past one before placing the ball into the far corner.

The Lionesses will now face AFC Wimbledon in the First Round of the FA Cup.
