Congratulations to young Millwall FC fan, Lucas Daly, for winning Good Morning Britain's (GMB) Young Loneliness Award.
The seven-year-old fan received the award for his book ‘Bone Man’, inspired by Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man series. After writing the book, he published it with with the help of his mum, and sold it to raise money for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
Lucas’ NHS CIO grandfather, Ricky Mackennon, spent his final days in this hospice before passing away a year ago, aged 58, just after being awarded for his work during the pandemic.
Lucas was invited to the GMB studio, where he received the news live on air, and had a guest appearance from his favourite footballer, Millwall's Billy Mitchell.
Billy said:"I'd like to say on behalf at Millwall, we're incredibly proud of you. The you've done is absolutely astonishing, and to believe you've just turned seven years old is hard.
I've read the book personally and I absolutely love it… massive well done."
Lucas Daly has managed to raise a fantastic £1,250 so far!
