Millwall Community Trust hosted another successful Jimmy Mizen cup on Thursday morning.


Nine teams were involved in the yearly event, with Downderry Primary School winning the competition.


Each school played in a group stage before the top two of each group playing in the semi-final.


Downderry played Goosegreen in the final, with the former winning 3-0.


All the children were presented with medals by Margaret and Barry Mizen and a Millwall Football Club team poster after the event.


MCT CEO, Sean Daly said: “It was another great Jimmy Mizen cup at the MCT.


“Thank you to all the schools that participated and congratulations to Downderry for winning the competition.


“We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Sheffield United match where all the children will be taken on the pitch at half time.


“Finally, it was great to see Margaret and Barry Mizen and we are already looking forward to Jimmy Mizen day in a couple of weeks.”


Emily Poole, Primary Stars and Schools Coordinator said: “The tournament went really well, the children really enjoyed it and all walked out with smiling faces.


“There was some excellent talent and cracking goals scored. Well done to everyone who participated.”
