MCT’s Football and Sports Development Ambassador Billy Mitchell made his 100th appearance for Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

The 21-year-old played the full ninety minutes as the Lions beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road for the first time since 1989.

Mitchell won the 2022 PFA player in the Community Award in the Championship last campaign for his outstanding service in the community.

After winning the award back in April last year, Mitchell said: “Becoming heavily involved in work with Millwall Community Trust is a no-brainer for me. As someone who grew up in the local area and benefited from MCT’s outstanding work, giving something back only seems right.

“The sessions that the Trust put on, as well as the education they give, is vitally important in and around The Den and I am only happy to continue producing my input to put smiles on faces.”

Mitchell made his first appearance for Millwall on the last of the 2018/19 season against Wigan Athletic coming on in the second half.

The midfielder has made himself one of the first names on the team sheet since, partnering up mostly with George Saville in the South London club’s engine room as they currently sit fifth in the second tier of English Football.
