Millwall Lionesses U18’s won their second cup final in two weeks as they beat Hackney Wick U18’s 7-0 in the London FA Girls Cup Final.
Following on from their 3-2 win against Brentford B last weekend in the Capital Women’s Cup Junior competition, The Lionesses were aiming for back-to-back cup competition wins.
Millwall started well and took the lead in the 23rd minute as Melissa Jones opened the scoring. Three minutes later it was two as Jones once again got on the scoresheet.
Chloe Brian made it three just after the half hour mark before adding a fourth seven minutes later as Millwall Lionesses U18’s went into the break with a 4-0 lead.
But they weren’t done yet as Renee McLeod-Graham added a fifth on the hour mark and Frances Kerr made it six with seventeen minutes of normal time remaining.
The cherry on top would come with ten minutes to go as Quiana Dillon-Bent would score the seventh of the afternoon to round off a perfect day and win for Millwall.
Ted Jones, Millwall Lionesses U18’s manager said: “It was a great day for the girls, we were superb from start to finish and deserved a thumping 7-0 victory. Their hard work and dedication has been outstanding this season and they got their rewards over the last couple of weeks with two trophies. We can hopefully add a third in the league if results go our way!
“Both trophies are massive for the Lionesses, it really shows the progress they’ve made across the season but through the academy pathway too with several girls coming through the academy from a young age.
“I’m really proud of the girls, they deserve all the credit! We’ve got two games to finish our season strong and then will push on again next season. Come on you Lionesses!”
