Congratulations to Millwall Community Trust Women’s and Girls Football/Sport Ambassador Romain Esse who scored his first Lions goal on Saturday.
The goal came as Millwall beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at The Riverside Stadium on the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign.
Fellow Ambassador Aidomo Emakhu made a darting run down the line before pulling it back to Esse who struck into the top corner with ten minutes remaining.
The 18-year-old made his breakthrough into the first-team last term and has now made 13 appearances for Millwall.
Esse said: “First goal, first of many. It’s been great and I’m happy. Obviously, I have to shout out big man . He breezed past the defenders, and I knew I had to get into the box. I found the right space and the finish it was great, top corner.
“I know there’s players more experienced than me that didn’t come on, but we have a big squad and a lot of good players. I’m glad I did it today and we won.”
