Children from Millwall Community Trust's Holiday, Activity, and Food Programme (HAF) are treated to a special open training session at The Den.
In a heartwarming celebration of community and football, young participants of the Millwall Community Trust's (MCT) Holiday, Activity, and Food Programme (HAF) were in for an unforgettable treat.
Dedicated to enhancing the lives of children across Lewisham, Southwark, and Kent, MCT is going the extra mile this summer. MCT are hosting complimentary Holiday, Activity, and Food camps (HAF) at various venues, creating an environment of learning, fun, and nourishment. At The Lions Centre, up to 60 local children are welcomed daily, ensuring they not only engage in activities but also enjoy a hot meal and fresh fruit. With operations spanning from 10am-2pm, these camps offer a holistic experience for young hearts and minds.
The pinnacle of this summer's activities came alive today. Children at the Lions Centre were treated to a remarkable spectacle - Millwall's first-team training session at The Den. The excitement was palpable as the players graced the field, joined by fervent supporters and the young attendees of our HAF camp.
Tim Sells, the Millwall Community Trust Football and Sports Development Manager, expressed his delight, saying: "What an incredible morning for the children attending our Lions Centre Holiday, Activity, and Food Programme (HAF) camp. We were thrilled to see them enjoy the open training session, giving them an experience many will remember for the rest of their lives.
"We are privileged to be in a position where we can offer the children opportunities like this, and it is extremely humbling to see the impact this has on them. We pride ourselves on being a family club, and this is just one of the many ways we like to give back to our local communities."
