In a remarkable display of skill, determination, and teamwork, Millwall Community Trust's Player Performance Pathway U12s emerged triumphant at the prestigious Godwin Lawson tournament held at Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Ground. 

The event, which took place yesterday, showcased the rising stars of Millwall CT as they navigated through challenges and secured a well-deserved victory.

The journey began with the group stage draw, placing Millwall alongside formidable opponents:  HP AllStars, Arsenal, PRO FA, and CCR. Undaunted, Millwall kicked off their campaign with a brilliant 1-0 victory over HP AllStars, setting the tone for their tournament performance. Their next game was nothing short of astonishing, as they dominated Arsenal with a commanding 5-0 triumph in their second group match.

As the group stage progressed, Millwall's momentum continued to build. They showcased their prowess by dispatching PRO FA with a convincing 3-0 victory in the third group match. While the battle against CCR ended in a goalless draw, Millwall's solid performance throughout the group stage secured their spot in the quarter-finals.

Their first knockout encounter saw them facing Whitestar Academy, and Millwall once again displayed their mettle with a confident 2-0 win. The young Lions were proving their worth with every passing game. In the semi-finals, they faced Leicester, emerging victorious with a resounding 3-0 triumph, solidifying their place in the grand finale.

The much-anticipated final clash pitted Millwall against the hosts, Tottenham. The match lived up to its billing as an intense showdown, culminating in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the end of regular time. The tension escalated as the game moved to a penalty shootout. Millwall's nerves of steel came to the forefront as they clinched victory in the penalty shootout, ultimately winning the tournament and hoisting the coveted trophy.

Patricio Fenick-Sanchez, Millwall Community Trust's Football and Sports Development Officer, expressed his immense pride in the team's accomplishment: “What a great experience for the boys! Playing at such a fantastic venue such as Tottenham and competing against some very good sides. I am so proud of each and every one of them and delighted we could bring the trophy back to SE16.
