Millwall Lionesses drew 2-2 with Sutton United in their 2023/24 opener.
Goals from Sarah White and Sophie Chapman got Millwall off to a good start after twice coming from behind.
Millwall started the better of the two sides, attempting efforts from outside the box which weren’t too far away from finding the back of the net.
But, on the half-hour mark Sutton took the lead, as a free-kick from range flew into the roof of the net.
The Lionesses weren’t to be kept down for long, however, as just six minutes later Sarah White levelled the score with a smart finish from inside the box.
The hosts struck again just minutes after to give Millwall work to do once more.
Millwall kept coming forward and they were eventually rewarded as just two minutes from time, Sophie Chapman found the back of the net to ensure The Lionesses came away with a point.
Next up for Millwall Lionesses is at home against Dorking Wanderers at St Paul’s Sports Ground this weekend.
