Millwall FC midfielder Allan Campbell visited Our Lady of The Rosary Primary School today as part of World Book Day 2024.

World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe with this year's theme being “Read Your Way”.

The afternoon started off with Campbell assisting a student to read a book in front of the school’s assembly as all the children listened.

Following on from this, the students were given the opportunity to ask the Lions midfielder questions they’ve always wanted to know the answer to in a general Q&A where Campbell also explained the importance of reading and working hard in school.

The session ended with Campbell posing for pictures in the school’s library with books that were given to Our Lady of Rosary Primary School by Millwall Community Trust for children to use.

Sean Daly, Millwall Community Trust CEO Said: “What a great experience for the children to have Allan Campbell come into their school and read as part of World Book Day 2024.

“It just shows what Millwall Community Trust is all about, helping in the local area, and the players doing this will make such an impact on these children and the value of developing their reading skills."
